Ok Toccoa!! its that time of year again to look towards the Ice Bowl. The Toccoa Ice Bowl will be held on January 30th, 2010 at the Stephens County Park and Recreation Disc Golf Course. The flyer will be available through this website by this evening.
One change to this year's event will be the addition of a CHILI COOKOFF. get out your favorite chili reciepe and make a batch to share for lunch. All chilis brought will be sampled and then voted on for the best chili for the year 2010 and a Trophy awarded at the awards ceremony. Bring along your serving utensil, all other items such as beverages, bowls, napkins and crackers will be provided, unless you prefer cornbread which you'll need to bring.
Any Questions??? Look for the flyer. If still unanswered, you'll have my number from the flyer or contact me this site. I will post registration by divisions as they come in. SEE YOU THERE!

January 30 MONTY DUBS 6 BYOP Monticello, GA (south of Conyers) 20 buck entry ctps every hole
I just wanted to let you guys know we're competing for players. I checked the Georgia schedule before I planned our tournament to ensure that there were no conflicts before this tournament was posted. Though Rose Lane and Deer Ridge are not that close, I pull from Atlanta players. We've never had more than 15 teams, and I was hoping for record attendance. Just FYI, discgolfatlanta.com is a good place to check for local conflicts in scheduling. Monty Dubs isn't PDGA, and I placed it on the 30th to keep from losing players to PDGA tournaments.

The playing format will be the same as previous years. First round 18 holes 3 discs only your choice. Second round 18 holes may use all discs. Mulligans will be available for both rounds and mulligans do not hurt you (meaning you may choose your first disc is the mulligan wasn't any better).

As for the conflict with the Toccoa Ice Bowl and the Monty Dubs. The Toccoa Ice Bowl has been the last Saturday in January for the past 7 years. With the growth of disc golf in the past few years it will only become natural that there will be several to choose from. Luke hope you do well in filling your tournament.

Pre-registration is not required. We usually never fill up, and if we were to get over 72 players, there are seven more holes I colud add in order to accomodate. Don't forget to bring canned goods.

So what time does this bad boy start? I may have missed it, but didn't see a flyer. Also, what is the entry fee? I know we are supposed to bring canned goods and am looking forward to the tourney.
Thanks, Matthew

Hey Matt, registration is 8-9, we will have a players meeting at 9, and tee off at 9:30. Entry fee is $20. The flyer is on the Toccoa Website. When you first go to the site scroll down til you see the flyer. If you go to forums you won't see it, but there is a tab at the top of forums that says Toccoa Disc Golf Site which will take you there. See you there...bring your chili

Found it! Thanks for the information Chris. Looking forward to it and am keeping my fingers crossed for a snowstorm that doesn't effect driving conditions!

I'd like to thank Chris for holding this event.
It's the only icy Ice Bowl I've seen in Toccoa, but I've only been playing since 07.
Next week is doubles on Sunday at 2pm. John will have a Safari at the end of February. And Jay will hold the Pro/Am in April.

Great tournament Chris. Thank you for running it. The weather was chilly but wasn't as bad as it could have been. Had a great time!

Thanks Ken and Hugh, and everbody else who braved the elements to play this year. This year we raised $111 for SELF and 61lbs of food for the Soup Kitchen. Last year we rasied $638 for SELF and 82.8lbs of food for the Soup Kitchen; however we had 17 more players last year.
